THOUGHTS
A wonderful prayer follows. It is packed with Paul’s desires and
intentions for the Church in Colossae. For me , this morning, it
provides strength and direction for a fatigued Christian. It’s a time
for steadfastness and perseverance, and I know that words like these from the
mind of God are necessary, for my growth and overcoming.
Col 1:9-14 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have
not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the
knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10
so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in
all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the
knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all power, according to His
glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously 12
giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the
inheritance of the saints in Light. 13 For He rescued us from the domain
of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14
in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
From a sign on a former boss’ desk... “On the plains of hesitation,
lie countless parched bones of men who came to rest... and resting
there, died!”
Isa 40:28-31 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The
Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not
become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. 29 He
gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.
30 Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble
badly, 31 Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They
will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They
will walk and not become weary.
I believe the only solution to times like these is to make progress in the
Lord!
GROW ON PURPOSE!
My Prayer:
Father strengthen us according to your great power. We pray for your
wisdom and a greater knowledge of you. Help us to live under the shadow
of the cross, to see Jesus in our every step. Make us so excited
about serving you that your words of life will naturally spill from our lips
and our lives.
In the name of
Jesus Amen
